I don't like when things don't stay dead. I don't like it when things the moon changes someone into a hairy, howling animal. And I REALLY don't like things that move on their own that AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE MOVING! yeah, the last one really gets to me. Other than seeing a needle go through someone's eye (Thank you Dead and Buried...scar me for life), that's a sure way to get me to cover my eyes and start humming the Star Spangled Banner.
But I love a good ghost story or an excellent haunted house. A good demon possession gets my blood a-pumping. As do classy vampires like David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve in The Hunger. That's back when vampires were scary and didn't sparkle. Let's get one thing clear people...VAMPIRES DO NOT SPARKLE. UNICORNS SPARKLE! Ah, I long for the days of the Lost Boys and 30 Days of Night. I'm so sick of vegetarian vampires who pine for their lost humanity. Anne Rice nailed that with Louis de Pointe du Lac in Interview with the Vampire. Everyone else just pales in comparison, so cut it out!
If it's inexplicable... I'll come along for the ride just to see how far a film will take me. I tell myself, "It's not real. It's only a movie." Sometimes, though, I know I'm lying!
Join me as we journey with the undead, the unnatural, and the unexplainable, but enough about Congress...hahahaha.
Here's to a year of Supernatural celluloid!
